Scarlett Johansson was born on November 22nd, 1984 in New York City New York. She is an American singer/actress whose range has earned her recognition in a variety of genres - from thrillers and adventure films to period dramas. Johansson grew up living in New York City as the daughter of an architect, and also an executive from a production firm. She and her twin brother Hunter were the youngest of four siblings. At the age of seven years old, her passion for acting had increased. Her first audition was for commercials. Her interest in acting grew quickly, and she was soon after at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute. In the age of eight, she starred together with Ethan Hawke in the Off-Broadway production Sophistry and, at the age of nine she made her first film appearance as Rob Reiner's North (1994). Johansson then appeared in Just Cause, but she made her debut with Manny & Lo, a film about orphaned siblings who run away. She next earned critical acclaim for her role as a teenage girl who had a life-threatening accident The Horse Whisperer (1998) and she gained further attention for her role as the cynical teenage outcast Rebecca on the set of Ghost World (2001). Renee Felice Smith's path into entertainment began from a young age. Smith was drawn to acting when she was a little girl. Smith's parents aided her in finding her first stage role when she was just six. On a TV commercial Smith starred as Dannon Yogurt. Like many actresses who are just beginning to get their feet wet, she would work on her acting skills. She was involved in various productions throughout the USA in the midst of making her stage debut. She attended the Stonestreet Studios Conservatory, part of the New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
